Meet the Board

Hi! My name is Britt Geelhoed and I am the Chairman of Asset | Econometrics. I grew up in a town called Halsteren, but I have been living in Tilburg for almost 2 years now. Last year I started the Master’s programme in Business Analytics and Operations Research. In the two years that I’ve lived in Tilburg, I have been actively involved in committees such as Active Members Weekend, Active Members Day, and Yearbook. 

Next to being the Chairman of Asset | Econometrics, I am also part of the board of LOES (National Organization of Econometrics Study Associations), which is responsible for organizing the LED (Landelijke Econometristen Dag). Moreover, I am the treasurer of Asset General. 

In my free time, I like to travel, read, and hang out with my friends. I am excited to see you at the rooms or at an event!

Hello everyone! My name is Hedser van der Wel, and I am the Vice-Chairman. I grew up in Middelburg, but moved to Tilburg 3 and a half years ago. Last year, I started the Master’s program in Business Analytics and Operations Research. I have been a loyal member of Asset | Econometrics for three years, two of which I served as Editor-in-Chief of the Nekst. Additionally, I have been the treasurer of both the Drink & Activities and Europe Trip committees, as well as the secretary of the Olden Goaldies committee.

The fun activities and great connections with our members have made me truly enjoy my time within the association over the past few years. This year, I am excited to get to know even more members and to keep building that great atmosphere together!

Hii everyone! My name is Anna and I am the Secretary of Asset | Econometrics. I am 22 years old and I am originally from Nistelrode, but I have been living in Tilburg since I started my bachelor's in Econometrics three years ago. I have been active at Astrics since my first year and have stuck around ever since! I have been part of several committees: Freshmen, Freshmen Night, Econometricians for Society, Yearbook and Promotion. This year I get to coordinate the Promotion, Nekst, and KOALA committee, which I am really excited about!

Besides all the studying, I enjoy having drinks, or just chilling and chatting with friends, or doing something creative. I am really looking forward to the coming year and hope to see you all at the rooms or an activity soon :)

Hi everyone! My name is Frank Aben. I am 22 years old, and I am the Treasurer of Asset | Econometrics. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Eindhoven and recently moved to Tilburg to start the next chapter of my student life. Last year, I completed my Bachelor's degree in Econometrics and Operations Research, and I am currently pursuing a Master's in Quantitative Finance, which I hope to complete next year.

Although I have only been active within Asset | Econometrics since the beginning of this year, the past six months have already shown me how much this association has to offer. The great atmosphere, fun activities, and the people I have met inspired me to apply for a board year. I am incredibly excited to take on the role of Treasurer and, together with my fellow board members, organize another fantastic year for all our members. I am looking forward to meeting many of you at the rooms and seeing you at our events throughout the year!

Hi everyone, my name is Maik, and I am the External Affairs Officer of Asset | Econometrics. I was born and raised in the beautiful village of Etten-Leur, near Breda. Two and a half years ago, I moved to Tilburg and became more and more involved in the association. When I am not in the Library or at the rooms, I enjoy having a drink, going for a run, or going on another trip. I am looking forward to continuing my student life as a board member next year and to seeing you all at the rooms!

Hi everyone! My name is Isabel de Man and I am currently the External Affairs Officer of Asset | Econometrics. I am 22 years old and was born and raised in Bemmel, but I have been living in Tilburg for just over six years already.

Last year, I completed my Bachelor’s in Econometrics and in September I started the Master QFAS. During my student life, I have been a member of Damesdispuut Vivezza, and for almost two years now, I have been active within Asset | Econometrics.

I started as chairman of the Connection Day Committee, followed by chairman of the Finance Expedition Committee. Alongside this, I helped plan our trip to Prague as secretary of the Europe Trip Committee. Afterwards, I became secretary of the EOR in Practice Day Committee. A while ago, I was also a proud member of the Promotion Committee.

In my free time, I enjoy having drinks and catching up with my friends. Over the past two years, I have already made many great memories and friendships within Asset | Econometrics. This made me really excited to dedicate a year to the association by doing a board year!
