Company descriptions:

ACTLytics

ACTLytics is a small consultancy that aims to be the bridge between software developers and software users. We do not deliver software, instead we provide services to help use software more effectively and generate value from it.

Our work spans multiple industries, from large multinationals to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). What sets us apart is our deep understanding of both the technical side and the user perspective. For example, we work with planners to understand what they need to work efficiently with new software. We ask critical questions to truly understand the challenges software users face, and we combine that with strong mathematical and optimization skills to grasp the inner workings of the software being used. In most cases, our work involves either improving optimization models or training users to get the most out of their tools. In addition, we use data analysis to identify bottlenecks within organizations and provide actionable advice to improve business processes. Our projects are diverse and often situated at the intersection of Operations Research and Business Analytics. Mostly, the projects are related to logistics.

At ACTLytics, you will work alongside curious and cooperative colleagues in a small team of 5 to 10 people. The atmosphere is warm and friendly but can also be competitive. Especially when we play boardgames after lunch or during our weekly padel sessions on Mondays. Other activities that we organize are our annual ski trip, participating in a triathlon together or having a karaoke night. At ACTlytics there is a lot of room for self-improvement. Growing as a person as well as growing your professional skills is important. We believe learning from each other and helping one another is key to both individual development and team success.

3DS

Milliman

Milliman is one of the world’s largest independent providers of actuarial and financial risk management services. Founded in 1947, the firm operates globally with offices in major cities across the world. In addition to traditional actuarial work, we support our clients in areas such as financial risk management, data analytics, and AI.

Milliman Benelux has offices in Amsterdam, Brussels, and Luxembourg. From these locations, a close-knit team of around 50 diverse consultants works together to tackle the complex challenges faced by our clients. We combine deep local expertise with the strength and innovation of an international network.

At Milliman, you make a real impact. Our projects focus on the quantitative issues financial institutions deal with — from capital models to M&A processes, and from predictive modelling to option pricing. This variety allows you to develop as a consultant and apply the skills and knowledge you gained at university in real-world scenarios. You’ll be working in an environment that offers a high degree of freedom, alongside ambitious, resourceful colleagues who are always ready to help. Our culture is driven by knowledge and results, and we continuously seek out new challenges in the world of data, risk, and regulation. One day you may help a client develop a new risk model, the next you could be working on a data science initiative or advising on regulatory changes.

And beyond work, we believe in balance and team spirit. From padel games, foosball and toastie Wednesdays to ski trips, annual dinners, and volunteering activities like cleaning up canals or beaches — Milliman Benelux is more than just a workplace; it’s a community.
