Asset | Econometrics is the study association for students in Econometrics & Operations Research at Tilburg University. It was founded in 1979 and is therefore one of the oldest associations connected to Tilburg School of Economics and Management.
Asset | Econometrics has approximately 620 members of which about 100 are active in several committees. These active members try to stimulate the interaction between students, students and scientists and students and business through numerous activities. To reach these three targets many activities are organized. These activities are both formal and informal. Examples are drinks, sports activities, in-house days, symposia and a study trip.

Asset | Econometrics is founded under the name ‘Tilburgse Econometristen Vereniging’ on March 15, 1979.
In the first years of its existence there were four committees besides the board: the excursion committee, the lecture committee, the mentor committee and the activities committee. Also, the first magazine was published during the first years, which was called Cirkel.
During the following years Asset | Econometrics widened the range of its activities. The Cirkel was renamed to Tristichon in 1988 and was again renamed to Nekst in 1992, the magazine's current name.
In 1984, during the first lustrum of Asset | Econometrics, the first conference was organized. From 1987 until 2008 these conferences were organized within the ‘Wim Bogers Stichting’. From 2010 on, once a year a symposium is organized under the name Asset | Econometrics.
In the mid-nineties the contact with other associations grew. In 1999 the first Economic Business week Tilburg took place and on a national level the National Econometricians Day and a sports tournament are already organized for years.
In 2008 the economic study associations founded Faculty Association Asset. In this year the association's name changed from ‘Tilburgse Econometristen Vereniging’ into Asset | Econometrics and became part of Faculty Association Asset. The language also changed in 2008 from Dutch into English, caused by the changes in the curriculum of the study.
As of the academic year 2012-2013, the chairman of Asset | Econometrics takes seat in the general board of Asset due to a organizational change involving all Asset associations. This change was forced by Tilburg University to increase the unity amongst the economic study associations in Tilburg. This structural change implies that the general board now consists of an independant chairman joined by all chairmen of the seven study specific Asset associations. On August 6, 2013 the official merger with all Asset associations took place.
Asset | Econometrics hopes to continue developing itself as it has always done and sees a bright future with good services for students and a good cooperation with all involved parties.
In its more than thirty-five years of existence, Asset | Econometrics granted honorary membership to four persons. All of them delivered a great and important contribution to our association. In order to become an Honorary Member, the General Members Meeting should agree with at least 2/3 of the members that are authorised to vote.
